Madeline Hope: 2 weeks and 3 days
Babies are hard to photograph. One year olds and three year olds are hard to photograph too, but in a different way. I didn't realize how many different expressions babies make in a 5 minute period, until I tried taking pictures of them. A lot of the faces that are sweet in real life, aren't so cute in a picture. Madeline likes to crack her eyes open, or open one more than the other...not so lovely for picture-taking. Sometimes their little features are out of proportion because of the birth process and sometimes their skin is less-than-perfect. But hey, that's why I like taking pictures of each stage. They grow so fast, it's hard to remember the itty-bitty stage, goofy faces and all! This morning, Madeline was quiet and alert. I think I like this group of shots better than the ones I took on Thursday. She and I both are in a better mood! (*mental note: wait till the boys are down to set up a photo shoot...otherwise it's WAY too stressful!)
William has a bad eye infection, a cough, and an ear infection, so we stayed home this morning. Currently all three are napping...thus my spare moment to post these. I try to post pictures fairly often for our family members who don't get to see S, W, and M every day. So here you go ya'll. :)

When you give a camera to a three year old...
...ya might eventually get a good one!
In the past, when I've flipped through photo albums, I realize I'm the missing mother! I'm always the one w/ the camera...No longer! Now my 3 year old loves to take pictures. I find interesting things on my camera. He's not actually supposed to take pictures or even touch the camera unless I o.k. it.
So, to satisfy his picture-taking-craving and my desire to be in a few pictures in the family album, I had him run get the camera while I was dressing Madeline for the day.
Some interesting shots ensued...
ceiling shot, off center, oops forgot to inclued the subject's head...William...oh, retake...
~Good for a laugh~

Samuel Justice is 3!
Where has time gone?! Three years ago, today at 4:54 a.m. we welcomed Samuel Justice into our family. He has changed us so much! We've had so many fun memories with him. He has brought so much laughter into our home, caused us to think about life choices, increased our capacity to love, taught us long-suffering, and faith, and has caused us to seek God for more grace. He was our little life-changer. Our plan was to wait 2 years to have children, but God decided otherwise, and gave us this fun little guy 37 weeks after our wedding day. Life has been full since he's arrived. We love you buddy!
Samuel is sensitive, funny, always has a "good idea", loves to chew gum and ride his bike. He's always seemed older than his age to me...but maybe that's because he's a firstborn. He's very helpful and cheerful most of the time. Justin and I pray that he will stand for Truth and follow Jesus Christ all of his days. May God bless you, Samuel, with wisdom, understanding, discretion, knowledge, and integrity...that you may impact your generation for the Lord.
"My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother; Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck. When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee: and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee..." Proverbs 6
