Grace's Update

Thank you for all your prayers. I know George and Krista really value them! The dr's identified Grace's bacterial pneumonia as strep. They believe Grace aspirated some fluid when she was born, which explains the strep bacteria in her lung.

She has to stay a minimum of 10 days in the NICU to finish the penicillin she's on. George and Krista went home Sunday night w/out Grace, but Krista goes in to the hospital to feed her. Yesterday Krista just stayed w/ Grace at the hospital all day and went home last night after her last feeding. She told me that the baby's birth was perfectly timed by the Lord b/c George is not as insanely busy, since he just finished up a unit. He's making up the test he missed on Friday and will be able to drive Krista back and forth between his classes. The good thing is that they're only 5-6 blocks from the hospital. That's too far for Krista to walk still. But all in all, the Lord is working things out for them. It's also a blessing in disguise, since Krista and George are able to get a full night's rest. They are rejoicing and of course, can't wait to bring their little girl home and be a family.
That's it for the update. Thank you for your prayers. I'll post more pictures when I get some. Krista said Grace is adorable w/ her eyes open. We haven't had any dark eyed babies around here, so that's fun! Mom, Dad, and Therese are going up tomorrow, so I'm sure they'll be lots more pictures soon!

Thank you for the update. We will continue to pray for them all. It is wonderful to see how the Lord's planning is always right. It is wonderful that they realize this.

We also had a baby that needed NICU, but the hospital was 3 hours away. The ability to sleep through the night those first few nights was a blessing in disguise, as it made recuperation that much faster, even though it is tough to leave the little ones behind.

Blessings to you all.

Thanks, Megan for letting us know how she is doing. I'm glad Krista and George are finding the silver lining - sleep at night! Please let them know we are thinking about them! Hope you are feeling well! T.

Megan,
We just found out about Grace being born and the complications surrounding her arrival. I cannot get into Krista's blog to post a note for her. Can you let her know that I am thinking about them? I had to leave two of my babies at the hospital after they were born and I remember how difficult that was emotionally and physically, as the extra traveling to the hospital for feedings began to take its toll. We are praying for the family and look forward to seeing pictures of the happy homecoming when Grace is released from the hospital.

Sincerely,
Karen Parish

Hi Megan!

First, please let Krista and George know that I am praying for them and Grace. Second, congrats on your (almost) THREE kiddos! It was great to see all the pics of you guys. Sometime, when life is less hectic, we need to catch up!
Again, please let Krista know I'm thinking and praying for her as God's grace gets her through this rough time.

Bye for now,

Hey Shawnee!

The girls and I have tried to contact you...but haven't been able to. I'd love to catch up; we don't need to wait till life's less hectic! (or it won't happen--ha!!) I was hoping there would be a link for you. Email us soon! We'd love to hear how the last few years have been for you! (edenstrings@yahoo.com) Hope you check this again and can give us your contact info. (do you have children? The last contact I had was with your mother-in-law and she said you were expecting) Anyway...I'll pass on your congrats to George and Krista.

Megan, for all of us girls

Funny thing-this morning I woke up to an earthquake and the news man says it started at your house. Were your boys jumping on the bed again? =D I hope everyone is okay!
